You Have The Right To Clean Air!

If people could see the "crud” in their central air system and the particles of "stuff” in the air they breathe, bottled air would soon be as popular as bottled water.

What Can I Do, You Ask?

Our recommendation is to have your duct work cleaned. This should include the blower wheel in your furnace. (chimney sweeps can’t do this.)

What About Filtration?

This is a good, better, or best question.

Good – Electrostatic filters.
These go in your furnace or in filter grills on your ceiling. They are permanent washable filters.

Better – Filter Media Type
This is a five inch thick filter that is installed in line with your furnace. It is designed as a "throw – away”, once or twice a year depending on how dirty your house is ( ouch!).

Best – Trane CleanEffects™ Electronic Air Cleaner.
This is installed in line with furnace. It is a patented, two part design that removes 99.8% of particles in the air. You can view this at Trane Products for a complete illustration and explanation.

What About Humidity?

In the winter time your house is dryer than a desert. Gas Heat rings all the moisture out of the air. Installing a whole house humidifier will aid in reducing dry throats and nose bleeds.

Humidifiers also eliminate static electricity, shrinkage, and cracking of woodwork. An added bonus with increased humidity is comfort and efficiency. You are able to set your thermostat at a lower temperature.

In the summertime your air conditioner de-humidifies your house. Today’s two stage models remove up to four times as much humidity as older systems.

What About Fresh Air?

Installing a Fresh Air Exchanger is typically done in new construction. With today’s tightly built homes and special insulation processes it is desirable to exhaust stale air ( bathroom exhaust and kitchens) and return fresh air from outside. This requires ductwork and is connected to the central air system.
