Geothermal

What is a Geothermal Heat Pump?

A Geothermal or "Ground – Source”
Heat pump is your homes primary source of heating and cooling. It utilizes the year round, stable temperature of the earth to dramatically lower energy cost in both heating and cooling cycles. It also provides "FREE” hot water as a by product of the system.

Can it be installed in existing homes?

YES. Each application is different. A geothermal system requires a series of "WELLS” to be drilled in your front or backyard. Piping is dropped to bottom of the well and is connected via a manifold system to the indoor unit.
Note: New sod and some landscaping will be required.

Is my existing ductwork compatible with geothermal?

In all probability, Yes. Like any new high efficiency system. Some minor modifications may be needed.

How does the cost compare to a traditional high efficiency system?

A Geothermal system will cost over twice as much as the price of a traditional system, To get an accurate comparison of cost, one needs to compare the " payback ”. This is the time it takes to recover the difference between the two systems using energy savings. Payback on most geo thermal systems runs three to five years.

Are there any tax incentives with a geothermal system?

The Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2009 provides a tax credit of 30% of the complete install.
(Check with your tax advisor.)

Geothermal is an investment in the future. You invest today and reap the benefits for years to come. Geothermal is "GREEN” Technology. You are reducing your energy consumption while using an inexhaustible energy source – the earth.
